Central Cafe is one of Barrhead’s hidden gems.
Known by locals as the best place to go for both a meal and a cone, the family-run business have been serving the sweet stuff for more than 50 years.
Owned by Riccardo and Lisa Crolla, the cafe use a secret family recipe for their ice cream.
They only started adding different

flavours 18 months ago – before that it was all about the traditional vanilla.
“Our customers have been so supportive and have really got behind us to make sure we were nominated for the Golden Cone – it’s been fantastic,” explained Riccardo.
“We’re so pleased to be in the running, and we’re looking forward to more people getting to taste our ice cream.”
