Family’s bubble, bubble, toil and trouble

-

James Brown spent six months renovating his garden to accommodate a luxury hot tub.

The £3000 spa was to be the star attraction at his partner’s daughter Erin’s 18th birthday party.

But after just two uses, it started leaking and water appeared to be seeping inside the casing. Worried James, 44, said: “It could have killed us all. The electrics are on the inside.”

Hot Price Tubs offered to repair the spa at first, then promised to replace it within four to six weeks. But the family, of Tullibody, Clackmannanshire, are still waiting.

So James, who lives with Wendy McInally, 46, and her daughters Erin and Neve, 10, contacted me.

He said: “I’ve sent more than 30 emails. Please help.”

The firm promised to uplift the spa next week. They said: “Mr Brown declined the opportunity of an engineer’s visit, so we offered a new hot tub within a timeframe which was not met. A full refund will be issued.”
