Charity job was 00 heaven for Roger

-

Sir Roger Moore’s last Bond girl says his best role was making millions for charity.

Tanya Rober ts, who played Stacey Sutton in 1985’s A View to a Ki l l, bel ieves his work with Unicef was as important as his time playing 007.

She said: “Roger was the best James Bond ever. But I think his charity work for Unicef was his best role.

“Roger had gotten so much from the Bond films, but he didn’t let that take over his life.

“To him he saved the world through his charity work, and that role was his best – to be a charity ambassador.

“The way he threw himself into charity work was really incredible.

“His energy, passion and politeness were unique. I don’t know if he could’ve offered more as he got older.

“He got so much out of Bond but I think working for Unicef was the perfect role for him as an older man to give something back.”

Moore became a Unicef ambassador in 1991 after being int roduced by Breakfast at Tiffany’s star Audrey Hepburn.

Cancer last week claimed the life of the 89-year- old actor, who played Bond from 1973 to 1985.

Tanya, 61, said they remained friends for life.

She added: “My fondest memory of him would probably have been how cool he was in the nude scenes.

“I was a bit nervous but he was just very considerate, a total professional, and made me feel at ease.”
