I jet in to win flights refund for couple
Janette Beveridge did a double take when her husband Brian announced he had booked flights to Thailand as a surprise for their 30th anniversary.
The problem was she had paid for the same flights, on the same day, as a surprise for him.
She immediately phoned to cancel one booking with online agent Travel Trolley and expected they would refund her money. But, five weeks later, she was no further forward.
Housewife Janette, of Mayfield, Edinburgh, said: “They are ignoring us. I asked the airline to help but they are getting nowhere.
“They told Brian and I that they cannot have a double booking for the same flight in the same names. Please help.”
I got on to Travel Trolley and, lo and behold, they promised to refund the couple.
They said: “The client made identical bookings with a gap of three months. We followed this up with the airline, who initially refused to honour a refund.
“But we escalated the matter again and managed to get a refund processed on one of the bookings.”
Result.
