Grant Fans baffle me

Richard E Grant has revealed he is baffled by fans’ obsession with his iconic debut film Withnail and I.

Grant, 60, shot to fame in the 1987 black comedy about two unemployed actors, based on writer and director Bruce Robinson’s life in the 60s. At the Edinburgh International Film Festival, he said: “I saw Withnail for the first time in 30 years in Chicago last month. It was like interactive cinema.

“It’s bizarre and I don’t really understand why but I’m very grateful for it.”
