Angry Dave has the blast laugh

-

Gaffer Dave Mackay delivered the hairdryer treatment to his sloppy Stirling stars to inspire a second-half comeback.

The Binos were 2-1 down at the brea k but Ca l lum Morrison drew them level before Ross Kavanagh clinched the points and a thrilling derby victory late on.

Mackay said: “We were really poor for the first 45 minutes and they deservedly went in ahead.

“I had a go at the players at half-time – it was nowhere near good enough and they know that.

“But we got a good response from the boys in the second half. We hit the post, hit the bar and had other chances so we deserved to win.

“It’s the first game of the season, everyone is up for it and in the second half we put on the kind of performance more like Stirling Albion.”

Stenny took the lead in 20 minutes when the ball fell to Harry Paton and his halfvolley from the edge of the box took an awkward bounce to beat the keeper.

But Stirling were looking dangerous and found an equaliser in 33 minutes. Peter

MacDonald did well to lay off for ex-Warrior Darren Smith and he slotted home.

There were further chances at both ends but it was the home side who restored their lead before the break.

A high bal l found the unmarked Mark McGuigan and he headed past Albion keeper Cammy Binnie.
