Kim noticed the weight started to creep on when she hit 40.

She said: “I had always been the thin one and as I struggled with my weight, my twin sister Joan lost weight and the shoe was on the other foot.

“It just wasn’t fair.”

But it was when she was told she was obese during a hospital appointment that Kim decided to take action.

She said: “I knew I had do something serious about my weight, so in January last year I went with Joan to the Scottish Slimmers class she attended. I was full of good intentions but I really struggled.

“Instead of helping, it made it harder to see my slim sister next to me.”

Luckily for Kim, another class run by Iris Boyle was recommended to her.

She said: “Since going to Iris’s classes I’ve never looked back.

“Iris motivated me, encouraged me and made me laugh during my weight-loss journey.

“I’ve retired from BT and now have a new career as a Scottish Slimmers class manager.

“I say to my members, ‘If you follow the seven-day plan, the weight will come off from day one and give you the incentive to keep going, however much you have to lose’.”
