Teenager Ben Stirling hit the winner with his first goal for Cowdenbeath. The 18-year-old, who is on loan from Hibs, fired the only goal in the 30th minute. He lashed home from close range after a brilliant set-up by Cameron Muirhead. Craig Thomson and Ashley Grimes wasted chances for City who are still looking for their first league point this term. Shaun Rutherford had a second-half chance for the Fifers to make the points safe but fired wide. Cowden remain unbeaten in the league.
