FIANCEE WILL PAY, STAG DO GROOM VOWS

-

26 Sunday Mail A heartbroken groom left stranded at an airport after his fiancee vanished with his £11,000 stag do fund yesterday vowed: “I’ll shop her to police.”

Chris Mahone, 27, hit out as it emerged his wife-to-be Rachel Doran was hiding away in a caravan park.

She left Chris humiliated when it emerged she had faked plane tickets and accommodation bookings for his trip to Ibiza – leaving him and his 29 pals £11,000 out of pocket.

Yesterday, he told how he was preparing to get police involved.

He also denied that Rachel had acted out of revenge after wrongly believing Sel laf ield power plant worker Chris had cheated on her.

Chris’s pal Glyn Edwards, who was due to go on the stag do, spent yesterday consoling his friend.

Gary said: “He’s said the police will def initely be informed.

“Any suggestion Chris has been playing around with another woman is totally incorrect.

“There is no way that Chris would cheat.”

The g room bri e f ly returned to the home in Cleator Moor, Cumbria, that he shared with Rachel, 29, for the f irst time since Thursday morning’s ordeal at Leeds-Bradford airport.

Rachel was last night understood to be staying at a caravan park in Allonby, 20 miles from home, while Chris drowned his sorrows with friends.

Eight of Chris’s pals refused to let the chance of a break in the sunshine pass by and booked last- minute f l ights to Magaluf in Majorca.
