Doorstep gun attack

A man escaped injury after a gun was fired at him on his doorstep.

Police said the man, 42, answered the door of his home in Glasgow Road, Paisley, around 9.30pm on Friday where he was conf ronted by a man who shot at him before running off.

The victim was not injured but the incident is being treated as attempted murder.

“The questions that parents now have are, how long has this been going on for and how long has it been known about?”

Edinburgh Academy, in the north of the city, was founded in 1824.

A senior school insider said: “The term fight club is not a term recognised by the school.

“A disciplina­ry issue was dealt with and appropriat­e measures were taken. The parents of those involved were informed.

“A few children were behaving badly and others were watching.

“A number of children were discipline­d as a result. The school learned of an incident and swift action was taken.”

Edinburgh Academy’s website states senior school fees are £ 4548 per term.
