Doorstep gun at­tack

A man es­caped in­jury af­ter a gun was fired at him on his doorstep.

Po­lice said the man, 42, an­swered the door of his home in Glas­gow Road, Pais­ley, around 9.30pm on Fri­day where he was conf ronted by a man who shot at him be­fore run­ning off.

The victim was not in­jured but the in­ci­dent is be­ing treated as at­tempted mur­der.

“The ques­tions that par­ents now have are, how long has this been go­ing on for and how long has it been known about?”

A se­nior school in­sider said: “The term fight club is not a term recog­nised by the school.

“A dis­ci­plinary is­sue was dealt with and ap­pro­pri­ate mea­sures were taken. The par­ents of those in­volved were in­formed.

“A few chil­dren were be­hav­ing badly and oth­ers were watch­ing.

“A num­ber of chil­dren were dis­ci­plined as a re­sult. The school learned of an in­ci­dent and swift ac­tion was taken.”

Ed­in­burgh Academy’s web­site states se­nior school fees are £ 4548 per term.
