Half billion reasons they’re better

- Gordon Waddell

Scott Sinclair admits Celtic’s worst ever home defeat hurt like hell.

But he reckons there would be something wrong with PSG if they weren’t destroying the Hoops.

The French champs have spent in excess of half a billion pounds assembling a side their Qatari owners want to see win the Champions League – and it showed in the 5- 0 demolition on Tuesday night.

Sinclair said: “They should be like that if they’re spending that much money.

“They have world- class players in their team and they’re a great side.

“Neymar showed it. He got his goal and is a top player. But every one of them is a top player. We just have to move on and go into the next game against Anderlecht.

“Hopefully we get our confidence back and try to make sure we get a result there.

“We did it last year against Man City so hopefully we can do it again.

“That’s all we can do. Put this game to bed and move on.”

Sinclair admits the ability of the Paris side’s defence to play through their press at will was demoralising.

He said: “That’s their quality. Sometimes we press and sometimes we sit off.

“But when we did press, they passed it around us. They’re up there wit the best. We played Barcelona last year in the groups and they’re definitely up there with that quality of football.

“But by our own standards it was still a little bit disappointing.

“The first 20 minutes I felt we could have come out the traps better, more aggressive, but they are world- class players.

“Even so, the manager wants us to get results.

“Losing the game by that many goals is disappointing.”
