Jim: No change in Celts

-

Jim McIntyre reckons what Ross County got from Celtic yesterday wasn’t a backlash to defeat against PSG – just another chasing from the champions.

The Staggies – one of only four sides to take points off the Hoops last season – were in the firing line from the off as they lost 4-0.

It came after Celts crashed 5-0 at home to the French masters in the Champions League.

But the Dingwall boss said: “The mentality Brendan has instilled in the squad at Celtic, you would get that performance regardless of what the result was the other night.

“Of course they are going to be hurting and are going to want a bounce back.

“You lose games here and it is crisis so we knew what we would be facing and expected a few changes.

“But when they make changes they seem quite seamless and the quality is not diluted either.

“We chose to go five at the back because Celtic are very good at penetrating if you go with a back four, due to the runs of their forwards.

“And I felt we didn’t get penetrated that often but we lost a couple of goals from distance which was really frustrating.

“Second half we were far better, we changed the system and got more contact on Celtic. I thought we deserved a goal.

“The bottom line is we won’t be judged on what we do against Celtic.

“But we still want to be better than what we were today.”
