“I’m looking towards next year’s Commonweal­th Games in the Gold Coast. The team gets announced in January so we shall see how it goes.

“I did two years of a sports developmen­t degree at Cardiff Metropolit­an University but put it on hold to train for the 2012 Olympics.

“I was thinking of going back and f inishing my studies but it looks like modelling is my new and unexpected calling.

“I am extremely ambitious thanks to my competitiv­e background in sport and I am determined to make it to the top, especially as I’ve come into the plus- size modelling business at the perfect time.”

Mark Conlin, of Colours, who scouted Brett on Instagram, believes he can go all the way.

He said: “Brett is a pioneer in the industry. He is one of the UK’s first plus-size male models and he has the drive and ambition to make it internatio­nally.

“He is also classicall­y tall, dark and handsome. Clients have been going mad for him and he is optioned every day for shoots.

“The UK has been slow on the uptake but now the f loodgates are open.”
