Ronnie declares record ‘achievable’ after 30th title
O’Sullivan, who eased to the English Open title last month, insists he’d rather enjoy his snooker than be motivated by records.
The 41-year- old said: “If you told me I’d play for another 10 or 15 years and only win a few more titles I’d be happy with that.
“To come out the winner this week is fantastic. I’ve had a good four or five weeks. It’s about longevity for me but Hendry’s record is achievable.”
Talented Trump didn’t drop a frame until the semi-finals in Shanghai.
But O’Sullivan handed him a taste of his own medicine as he raced into an unassailable 7- 0 lead.
Five-time world champion O’Sullivan added: “I knew Judd was playing well because he was whitewashing people 5- 0 all week.
“He beat me in the European Masters Final in Romania last year so it’s nice to get one back over him.”
The Rocket has found a vintage streak of form, winning two titles as well as reaching another final in the space of a month.
And breaks of 91, 48, 76, 81, 56 and 70 blew Trump away in the first session.
Trump grabbed the afternoon’s final two frames with a top break of 102 to trail 7-2 heading into the evening.
But O’Sullivan picked up the final three frames needed for victory with a best visit of 108 to clinch the latest triumph in his trophy-laden career.
Trump said: “I won the last final we played and he won this one so it’s my turn next time.”
