Wife Faryal puts past behind and gives backing to husband
Halina Watts Boxer Amir Khan’s wife insists they are back together after a bitter rift nearly destroyed their marriage.
The couple played out a very public break-up on social media in August but Faryal Makhdoom now says: “We all do stupid things in life.” Former world champion Amir, 30, who was repeatedly accused of cheating, was reunited with Faryal ahead of his jungle stint. And the make-up designer – who is four months pregnant with the couple’s second child – has revealed the public feud with Amir’s family has also been resolved. She hopes the world will warm to Amir, who is reportedly being paid a record £400,000 for his jungle ordeal. But Bu Faryal, 26, diddid admit her hardmanhar husband is so scared of creepy-cre crawlies thatth he rings her mobilem if he spots a spider in their home. She said: “He’s a good, good guy and I’m glad he’s on TV so people can see the real side of him.
“Sometimes people judge you without knowing you. We all do stupid things in life. I think people read things and you don’t mean it like that.”
The couple’s split earlier this year appeared to come as a surprise to Faryal.
She tweeted him: “I’m not sure if it’s your family tweeting for you. But I’m not the one who has been in the papers for cheating.”
Amir accused his wife of having an affair with current heavyweight boxing champ Anthony Joshua, 28, who laughed off the claim, adding: “We have never even met.”
Days later, Amir allegedly bedded beauty therapist Emily Volkova, 21, before calling his conquest a “daft white sl*t”.
Despite the claims, Amir, who is reportedly worth £23million, and Faryal reconci led and the couple later apologised for their spat.
Speaking at the opening of Luton restaurant Marhaba, she said: “Amir seems really depressed and quiet but I think he’s liked.
“I’m proud of him. I can’t speak to him and I have no way of contacting him but I hope he’s OK.”
Last week, Amir was blasted for failing his first Bushtucker Trial when he pulled a snake from a hole inside a giant termites’ nest while trying to win the camp a meal token.
He gave up and refused to carry on with the Critter- Cal Rescue task. He also admitted he didn’t know what I’m A Celeb was about or what happened on the show.
Since then, he has been mocked by viewers with Extra Camp host Joe Swash
