Ant McPartlin waves goodbye to his woes and has a whale of a time at the beach with family and friends.

The I’m A Celebrity host, 42, was joined by best pal Declan Donnelly and youngsters on Queensland’s Gold Coast, near where the jungle show is filmed.

“Ant didn’t seem to have a care in the world,” said an onlooker. “He was loving his day swimming around and was very relaxed. The show is going well and he seemed a million miles away from his rehab woes of the summer.

“This is the happiest he has looked since arriving in Australia and it’s great that he and Dec have relaxed into the show now and it is going from strength to strength.”

The Geordie was allowed out of rehab – where he was treated for addiction to prescription drugs – just two weeks before fronting the show with Dec. And the pair are so relaxed that they joked on the show’s first night that Holly Willoughby was to have replaced Ant.

Dec said: “We didn’t know if you would be here.” Ant said: “Unbelievable. It’s good to be back,” as they hugged.

Last weekend, chilled Ant even swapped his usual boozy birthday bash for a night in and a takeaway. Panicked presenter Iain Lee failed to get his underwater trial, the Temple Of Gloom, started after struggling for breath.

The 44-year-old had been given 11 minutes to swim through connecting chambers filled with critters to collect stars, which would have given a meal each for the hungry camp.

Despite being given the chance to re-start the trial, Iain was forced to say the immortal words, “I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here” after finding it impossible to master.

Afterwards he told presenters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, both 42, “I’m not a strong swimmer.

“That box was tiny – I couldn’t catch my breath.”

After tearfully breaking the disappointing news to his campmates, Iain sparked a debate on whether men should cry in public.
