MY SIS IS STRICTLY BRILLIANT

-

Alexandra Burke’s brother has leapt to the star’s defence and urged Strictly Come Dancing viewers to end her voting misery.

The singer was last week dumped into the bottom two by fans of the show despite jointly topping the judges’ leaderboard.

Alex, 29, who is mourning her mum Melissa Bell, who died in August, has also been subjected to abuse online with some trolls branding her “fake”.

Her half-brother Travoir, who has the same father as Alex, told her tormentors to leave her alone.

Speaking to our sister paper the Sunday Mirror, the security guard, from Sutton, Surrey, said: “People have forgotten that she’s just lost her mum.

“People have forgotten she’s human. It’s bullies. They’re attacking someone who’s trying to please them.

“Anything you do, people are going to criticise you.

“But she’s been through a lot in the past few months and they’re kicking her when she’s down.”

Former X Factor champ Alex has won consistent praise from the judges throughout the series but has struggled to win over the public.

Last week, she landed in the bottom two for the second time in a row.

Her tears on the show were branded “false” by some twisted viewers, while rumours of backstage arguments and furious rows have seen her labelled a diva.

But 37-year- old Travoir, said: “You have to be a diva. You have to be to win. You can’t please everyone. If she wasn’t crying, they’d still find something to say.”

Last night, Alexandra and partner Gorka Marquez danced a Salsa to Finally by CeCe Peniston and a Viennese Waltz to Tina Arena’s version of REM’s Everybody Hurts.
