Billy keeps United riding high

Scott McDonald but the striker’s effort was blocked by keeper Derek Gaston.
Morton had a go themselves, Michael Doyle’s deep cross finding Robert Thomson who volleyed into the side-netting from a tight angle.
The home team nearly cashed in on slack play in 19 minutes when a Fyvie blunder allowed Gary Oliver a shot – but it flew wide.
At the other end, Jamie Robson found space but his cross was nodded over by Stewart Murdoch.
Laszlo’s men finished the half strongly and carved out two chances in quick fashion.
Scott Fraser and King linked well to set up Fyvie but his low shot was gathered at the second try by Gaston who then denied McDonald.
Morton made a bright start to the second half, Thomson’s header from a Ross Forbes cross was kept out by Harry Lewis before Oliver curled one wide after turning sharply.
However, it was United who broke the deadlock on the hour. The Morton defence seemed to doze off and allow McMullan to fizz a ball into the feet of King who turned and fired low into the corner.
United almost blew their lead moments later when a bad backpass from Robson saw Jai Quitongo gallop clear, only for keeper Lewis to rush out and do just enough to put off Quitongo who poked wide.
But it was job done in the fourth minute of injury time.
Sub Patrick N’Koyi robbed Gary Harkins and fed King to slot home.
Home boss Jim Duffy said: “The score is harsh but United were the better side.
“My team gave everything in terms of commitment but United were a bit slicker in the key moments.”
