A woman was arrested on suspicion of drug- driving yesterday after being found passed out at the window of a fast food drive-through.

A worker called police after the customer was seen collapsed at the wheel of a Mini before 6am.

West Mercia Pol ice tweeted a photo of the car, outside a McDonald’s in Telford, Shropshire, adding: “McNicked.”

Broons bosses have even been accused of ripping off a caper from last year’s annual. One outraged Broons buff said: “I’ve been a fan all my life but it’s really annoying to have spent good money for an annual that is full of stories I’ve read before.

“Reading this year’s book was like Groundhog Day and when I looked through my older annuals, I found 18 of the 95 stories had just been lifted.

“In some of them, they have changed the dialogue but for a lot, they haven’t even bothered doing that.

“They even included a direct copy of a story about the Broons playing crazy golf from last year’s annual.

“There were also 14 stories taken from the 2008 annual and three from 1990.

“Everyone has been moaning about the telly being full of repeats this Christmas but you simply don’t expect it from the Broons annual.

“I don’t understand how this can happen. They’ve had all year to come up with new ideas.”

The Broons annual – featuring the antics of the family from 10 Glebe Street, Auchenshoo­gle – has been a mainstay on the annuals bestseller­s list.
