Hustle hassle as Rocket reveals he may snub Worlds
Ronnie O’Sullivan has hinted he could miss next year ’s World Championship in order to film his TV show.
Five- time winner O’Sul livan remains snooker’s biggest star and is still among the best in the sport despite turning 42.
A scint i l l a t ing six-week period across November and December saw The Rocket win three ranking titles including a sixth UK Championship crown. O’Sullivan is likely be the favourite to win a sixth world title in April.
But on Twitter, he suggested he could be filming a second series of his show ‘ Hustle’, which follows Ronnie around the world playing pool.
O’Sullivan told fans he will be “Filming in May”, but the World Championship runs from April 21 to May 7,
When directly asked if he would miss the Worlds, he said: “I might do. Crucible goes on too long, it’s my least favourite event.
“I’ve got plenty of ranking points so no need to play as much.”
O’Sullivan, regarded as one of the best-ever, is no stranger to taking a break from the sport and has suggested he could miss even more major events.
He recently said he would: “One million per cent” want to travel to Australia to take part in ‘I’m a Celebrity’.
If he did, he would miss the UK Championship next December.
