Liam wins Brits war against bro Noel
Liam Gallagher has put one over on brother Noel after earning a Brit Award nomination.
The feuding brothers have waged a war of words since Oasis split in 2009.
Now singer Liam is a contender for Best Male Artist while his elder brother has been snubbed.
One Direction stars Zayn Mal ik, Liam Payne and Harry Styles are all up for a gong for their solo efforts.
The trio will be up against each other in the Video Of The Year category which was decided by the number of YouTube/ Vevo v iews they had.
But bandmates Nial l Horan and Louis Tomlinson have been passed over.
Singer Dua Lipa has racked up more nominations than Ed Sheeran, the world’s highest-earning singer, with a total of five.
Ed is up for best British male solo artist against Gal lagher, rapper Loyle Carner, grime star Stormzy and singer Rag’N’Bone Man.
In the best British female solo artist category, Dua Lipa is nominated alongside 2015 winner Paloma Faith, Jessie Ware, Kate Tempest and Laura Marling.
Damon Albarn’s Gorillaz are nominated for best British group with London Grammar, Royal Blood, Wolf Alice and The xx.
In the British breakthrough act category, Mercur y Pr ize- winner Sampha will compete with Dua Lipa and rappers J Hus, Loyle Carner and Dave.
A source said: “It is pretty impressive that Dua has more nominations than Ed.”
