- Spurs .............................4 Everton .........................0 James Cairns

and the result as Spurs bid to break into the top four.

The gaffer said: “It was a fantastic performance. I’m so happy because it was a game we had to win. It was a massive three points.

“Harry deserves all the the praise. This way he’s going to break all the records in the Premier League and in England, and it’s fantastic because he helps the team every week.”

Spurs headed into the match on a 10-game unbeaten streak at Wembley, knowing victory would move them just three points behind Chelsea in third.

Everton had the ball in the net first when Wayne Rooney headed a Cenk Tosun nod down past Hugo Lloris. But Rooney had strayed offside and the assistant ref was spot on with his flag.

Moments later Kane stung the hands of his England mate Jordan Pickford.

The keeper could do nothing to stop Son from scoring the opener soon after. Serge Aurier drilled in a cross that was converted by Son with 26 minutes gone.

The South Korea international was involved for Spurs’ second goal. An exquisite turn saw Son lose Everton full-back Jonjoe Kenny before putting it on a plate for Kane to tap home.

It got even better for the England man as he tucked away an Eric Dier cross from the right 12 minutes later.

Eriksen made sure in 81 minutes, netting from a Deli Alli back-heel.

It was no more than Spurs deserved but it’s now six matches without a win for Sam Allardyce’s men.

The boss said: “Too many players just decided not to defend when Spurs had he ball. When the second goal went in we threw in the towel.”
