Bev beats blues by painting
Corrie’s Bev Callard brushes away the blues by painting the house.
Bev, 60, who plays Liz Mcdonald, finds DIY ideal for lifting her self- esteem and battling depression.
She said: “I love working out, reading and doing my home. I restore furniture.
“Heaven is a week off wearing no make-up and a baggy tracksuit, doing my painting and decorating.”
Bev, who fought clinical depression and twice attempted suicide, took a break from Corrie in 2016.
She credits recording studio boss husband Jon McEwan, 53, for saving her when she hit rock bottom.
Bev, speaking at the House of Commons MQ transforming mental health event on Tuesday, called for more NHS beds for mental health patients.
