East Fife boss Darren Young heaped praise on kid gloves Ben MacKenzie as the youngster kept Rovers out.

With Ryan Goodfellow out through injury, the 20-year-old, on loan from St Johnstone, was handed his first senior start.

Young said: “It was a great

clean sheet and Ben was outstanding on his debut.”

Aaron Dunsmore gave East Fife the lead in 12 minutes and a Chris Duggan volley doubled the advantage 10 minutes later.

Rovers boss Brian Kerr said: “I don’t think our players believed they could get back in the game.”
