Former Motherwell hero Louis Moult hopes he can cap a dream season by helping Preston reach the Premier League.

The striker earned a £ 450,000 move to the Championship side after a f lying start to the season that saw him fire Well to a League Cup Final.

And he’s now dreaming of a place in the promised land as Alex Neil’s North End side bid to seal a play-off spot.

Despite losing 1-0 at home to Ipswich yesterday, Preston remain right in the mix and sit three points off the play-off pace.

And Moult, who has yet to break his duck for Neil’s side, hopes they can keep the promotion dream alive.

The 25-year-old said: “It’s about staying in and around it at the moment.

“It will go right down to the wire. As long as we’re there or thereabouts we’ve always got a chance.

“First and foremost you take care of your own bus ines s but there’s def initely half an eye on other results because that can determine where you’re going to finish.

“I’ve never been part of a bunch that wants it as much and I’m enjoying myself. I’m loving it here.

“It’s a driven, enthusiastic and passionate group and all those things suit me.

“If we can all be like that and add quality to our game it marries together well.”

Moult’s Preston career has taken time to get going after he arrived at Deepdale with a hamstring problem.

And he said: “The injury I had was a frustrating one.

“It was nearly 10 weeks that I was out for, which takes its toll.

“I’m sti l l building the strength in my hamstring but with more games the stronger it will get and the fitter I will get.

“The training has been brilliant and I’ve enjoyed every day.

“All the lads have been great and with more minutes I’ll get sharper.

“As a striker you’re always judged on goals so and hopefully they will come soon. The main thing for me is to stay in the team.”
