Stevie Farrell’s Stranraer side boosted their play-off hopes as they held out at Stair Park against a resurgent Alloa.

Ross Lyon capped his first start for the Blues by firing them into the lead in 45 minutes.

Alloa’s Neil Parry spilled Lyon’s low drive from 20 yards into his

own net as the home side finally bagged the goal they deserved after a dominant first-half.

Alloa came out fighting after the break but Scott Robertson, Ryan Thomson, Cameron MacPherson and Lyon all made vital clearances as the visitors turned the screw.
