THE SERIES AND WHO HE THINKS WILL WIN THE FINAL

If I was a betting man, I would put my money on Jake to win.

He has been consistently at the top of the leaderboard so is the favourite with the judges. And the fact he was never in a skate-off shows he has the public support too.

He is a very strong skater and a great performer. Whether he deserved a perfect 40 in the semi-final depends on how you look at it. It might not have been perfect from a skater’s point of view but it was the best so far on the show.

Jake is a reality TV regular, appearing on X Factor twice and I’m A Celebrity but he’s never won. His determination not to be runner-up again might be enough to spur him to victory. Out of everyone, Brooke is the most hungry to win. She deserves to be in the final but she is not necessarily the strongest skater – it’s the public who have been putting her through time and time again. Kem Cetinay and Max Evans had much higher scores in the semi-final but they ended up in the skate-off, not Brooke. If the public have their way, she could win, no matter how well she does in tonight’s show. She is the only girl, which might count in her favour. She’s also very likeable. Brooke has come a long way since she took to the ice in week one but I hope viewers will vote for the best skater on the night. Max is perhaps the strongest skater out of the three but he’s not the strongest performance-wise.

He’s a man mountain and the lifts he can do for someone who had no skating experience before the show are incredible.

His size sometimes goes against him when it comes to grace on the ice. He trains incredibly hard and has a sportsman’s ethic, which has stood him in good stead. He deserves to be in the final and I’d love to see him win. We’ve bonded over our shared homeland and it would be great if he could do it for Scotland. If the public get behind him, there is no reason he can’t win.
