Stephanie isn’t the only redhead to be targeted by bullies. Here, we take a look at some gingerhaired celebs who have been picked on because of their flaming locks.

Former Celtic and Scotland boss Gordon revealed he was targeted long before becoming a player. The 61-year-old said: “I’ve been getting dog’s abuse since I went to school – I’m ginger, I’m small, big nose, the lot. It wasn’t until I was 40 that I realised I was fine.”

The Garbage singer had a “dreadful” childhood and was a self-harmer. The 51-year-old, from Edinburgh, said: “I started to believe I was the ugliest creature alive. I would have done well had it not been for the bullying.”

Radio host Chris was fined £75,000 when he hit back at a politician’s ginger jibes. He broke broadcasting rules by pledging support for London mayor candidate Ken Livingstone after rival Frank Dobson said his mum told him to “steer clear of redheads”.

Even model Lily, 30, didn’t escape the cruel taunts. She said: “I was of the type who gets bullied rather than does the bullying. Red hair is an issue, particularly in this country. Teachers often let it happen because there isn’t a stigma around it in the way there is, quite rightly, about some

thing like racism.” The actress, 57, said: “At school I did get teased about it. You want dark or blonde hair like everybody else in the room.”
