PARDEW: OWNERS COULD AXE ME

-

Alan Pardew admits West Brom’s owners may want to sack him after a 4-1 loss to Leicester – but insists he won’t go without being pushed.

The Baggies boss is set for showdown talks with Albion rock bottom of the Premier League and eight points from safety.

Riyad Mahrez, Kelechi Iheanacho and Vicente Iborra scored after Jamie Vardy’s volley cancelled out Salomon Rondon’s eighth-minute opener.

Pardew said: “For me, it’s about getting ready for a difficult game at Bournemouth and that’s what I will do. But I will still talk to them and get a feeling of what they think because they might think a change is a better thing for the club, I don’t know.”

It was a seventh defeat in a row – Albion’s worst run in 15 years – but Pardew said: “The one thing I’m not going to do is lay down tools.”

Under-fire Everton boss Sam Allardyce enjoyed a boost as Cenk Tosun’s strike and a Gaetan Bong own goal saw off Brighton 2-0.

Albion had Anthony Knockaert sent off for a wild tackle on Leighton Baines before Wayne Rooney’s spotkick was saved in a first win in three.

Allardyce said: “We live under pressure and the pressure has been on this week. We all felt it.”

Jordan Ayew was shown a red card for a high tackle on Jonathan Hogg after just 11 minutes but Swansea held on for a 0-0 at Huddersfield.

And Newcastle moved out of the drop zone as Kenedy’s double followed by Matt Ritchie’s strike sealed a 3-0 win over Southampton.

Saints boss Mauricio Pellegrino said: “I saw some players who gave up and we cannot show this.”
