Star Gerard wants to take on film tough guy

-

Gerard Butler has revealed he’d love to square up to The Rock.

But the actor says he would struggle to take on the former wrestling hero after breaking his foot in five places in a motorbike crash in Los Angeles last year.

Butler, 48, said sticking to the gruelling training schedule he used for his starring role as King Leonidas in the film 300 would now be impossible.

And at 6ft 2in himself , he admitted the muscly 6ft 5in Jumanji star would leave him in the shade.

Butler said: “I would love to do something with The Rock, Dwayne Johnson. I’d like to see how that plays out.

“He’s got a good eye for a script, he makes smart choices but he’s also really funny and cool.

“But I’d look puny by comparison beside him, and I don’t think any bulking up could match up.

“Leonidas was the fittest I’ve ever been and it’s 10 years ago. I wouldn’t put myself through it again. I’m glad I did it, but tick, it’s done.”

The pair clashed in 2007 when The Rock – real name Dwayne Johnson – ridiculed the Scot for winning the World Stunt Awards.

He said at the time: “I could have taken him. I could slap him in the face 300 times. But I bet he could have talked me to death.”

Paisley-born Butler, who is getting in shape for Angel Has Fallen, was hurt in the October crash that wrote off his bike.

He told Lux Magazine: “I’ve taken a lot of knocks in my time, so I’m more or less creaking down the streets now.”
