Perth-born Rumgay, an 11-time national champion, is due to represent Scotland at the Games in Australia, with the table tennis competitio­n starting on April 5.

The Facebook post, which was wr it ten as though Rumgay had composed it, said: “For the past three plus years I have been in a serious affair with Irish table tennis player Ashley Givan.

“I told her I was going to leave my wife Jane but was unable to do so, as it would mean I would lose everything.

“Jane has now found out and now I will stay in the marriage.

Givan had been mentioned on Rumgay’s business website, and there were images of her with other members of staff. She was described de as an associate on his LinkedIn profile, pro which has since been removed.

Givan G shared images of her and Rumgay working wo together on her Facebook profile.

She S said on LinkedIn: “I also work with GR Racket Sports. I cover many areas being a ppart-time personal assistant, social media assistant ass and sales distributo­r.

“I produce an array of social media posts and an articles used on gavinrumga­y.com.”

Her H CV on the site suggests she ended her employment em with the company this month.

Rumgay, R Craig Howieson and Colin Dalgleish Da make up the table tennis squad for Scotland. Howieson and Dalgleish were in inG Germany to train earlier this month but there the was no mention of Rumgay.
