Broch pile pressure on Cove

Fraserburg­h kept hopes of a dream league and cup double alive with a 4- 0 win over Turriff United.

Willie West’s hat- trick and a late goal from Greg Buchan sent a message to leaders Cove Rangers.

Broch boss Mark Cowie said: “It looks unlikely we will pip Cove to the league title but we will keep going and look after ourselves.

“We hope it takes as long as possible for them to clinch the title.

“This always looked a difficult game but we were dominant in the opening 20 minutes without scoring.”

Cove sent a message of their own with a 7- 0 away win at Lossiemout­h with Daniel Park netting a double in the rout.

Scott Ross, Mitch Megginson, Connor Scully, Kareem Hassanolm and Jonny Smith also bagged.

Inverurie Locos thumped Nairn County 4-1 with Andy Hunter grabbing two after goals from Stuart Duff and Neil Gauld. Max Ewan net ted a second- hal f consolatio­n for Nairn.

Formartine stayed fourth with a 4- 0 home win over strugglers Strathspey , with Scott Barbour, Jamie Michie, Archie MacPhee and Craig McKeown scoring.

Forres Mechanics are still chasing fourth place after Craig McGovern hit a double in a 4-1 beating of Clach.

Deveronval­e edged out Buckie Thistle 2-1 while Ross Still’ s double gave Huntly a 2-1 derby triumph at Keith despite an early Cammy Keith opener.

Wick thrashed Fort William 6- 0.
