Title’s so close for Bayern

-

Bayern Munich are just one win from another German title after battering Borussia Dortmund 6- 0 last night.

Deadly Robert Lewandowski ran riot by bagging a treble as Bayern blew their rivals away.

James Rodriguez, Thomas Muller and Franck Ribery were also on target and if Bayern win at Augsburg next weekend they will seal a sixth successive Bundesliga crown.

They romped 5- 0 ahead by half-time at the Allianz Arena and it’s the first time Dortmund had suffered such a first- half pummelling since April 1978.

On that occasion they crashed 12- 0 at Monchenglabach after trailing 6- 0 at the break.

Jupp Heynckes’ side would have been crowned champions last night had Schalke not won 2- 0 against Freiburg earlier.

Daniel Caligiuri and Guido Burgstaller were on target to put the champagne on ice.

Hamburg were denied a first league victory since November as the Bundesliga’s bottom side drew 1-1 at Stuttgart. They led at Stuttgart through Lewis Holtby but Daniel Ginczek equalised to leave Hamburg staring at relegation for the first time in their history.

In Spain, Gareth Bale netted twice to help Real Madrid stroll to a 3- 0 win at Las Palmas.

The Welshman f ired Real ahead with an angled strike before Karim Benzema made it 2- 0 from the spot after Lucas Vazquez was fouled in the box.

Bale then won and converted a penalty of his own as Real made easy work of Las Palmas despite resting Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of a Champions League clash with Juventus in midweek.

Napoli’s title hopes took a hit in Italy as they were held 1-1 away to struggling Sassuolo.

Matteo Pol itano had the minnows on course for a shock win but Rogerio’s late own goal spared Napoli’s blushes.

Lazio gave their quest for a Champions League slot a boost by thumping Benevento 6-2.

Rock-bottom Benevento had keeper Christian Puggioni sent off after nine minutes but hit back to claim a shock 2-1 lead.

Lazio then floored them with five goals in the last half hour.

They remain a point behind fourth-placed Inter who beat Verona 3- 0 with Mauro Icardi grabbing a double.
