Bilel high to Cappielow

Miffed Mosh goes from hero to zero

-

Bilel Mohsni was up to his old tricks at Cappielow after a late Dundee United cave-in all but ended their season.

The former Rangers defender wound up Morton supporters by pumping his fist and making a zero sign as he walked off the pitch.

Mohsni was famously involved in a post-match clash with Motherwell’s Lee Erwin, after Rangers had lost the 2014-15 Premiership relegation play-off at Fir Park.

Once again the Tunisian appeared to be losing the plot and as he passed Jim Duffy, the Morton manager just shook his head in bemusement.

Mohsni had given United the lead before the hour when he met a Paul McMullan corner and looped a header over keeper Derek Gaston.

United piled forward for a killer second to boost their flickering playoff hopes and with marauding Scott McDonald and McMullan always menacing it looked likely.

McMullan had a ferocious shot blocked for a corner in 77 minutes then at the other end Morton sub Robert Thomson shot across the face of goal with time ticking away.

But deep in stoppage time a Frank Ross corner deflected off Billy King and into his own net for an equaliser that moves Morton four points clear of United with five games left.

Fuming United boss Csaba Laszlo said: “The season is over. I don’t know where the ref got six mins of stoppage time from. It has cost us.”

Morton boss Duffy said: “I was a bit surprised by Bilel as I thought he was celebrating a win. As for the game, United were better than us in the first half so it’s a good point.”
