Archie anger at call

-

Alan Archibald reckons Partick Thistle were hard done by at Easter Road after Danny Devine’s goal was ruled out for offside

The Jags defender netted from the rebound after Baily Cargill’s header was saved by Hibs keeper Cammy Bell.

But the f lag went up against Miles Storey who was in an offside position.

Hibs then rubbed salt in Thistle’s wounds when they went straight up the park and opened the scoring.

Thistle also had Devine sent off late on to compound their misery. But Archie said: “Miles was standing around the area of the goalkeeper but he didn’t impede him.

“The keeper made the save and the ball trundled into the net even before Danny got to it so I’m not quite sure why it wasn’t given.

“But I didn’t waste my time chapping the referee’s door. Hibs would probably have got the goal being at the top end of the league but it works differently for us.

“We’ve all been there so we just need to lick our wounds.

“We maybe felt sorry for ourselves and should have defended better at their opening goal. Our defensive record has been our Achilles heel all season.”

But Hibs gaffer Lennon said: “He was in Cammy’s line so in the letter of the law it looks like it was the correct decision.

“I’m sure Archie will be aggrieved with it. But we’ve seen it again and he is stood right in Cammy’s line.

“We got a decision going for us for a change. It’s great. We’re still owed about 15!”

Thistle now face a huge relegation batt le with bottom side Ross County on Tuesday night.

Archibald added: “A win would be huge because it would open up a gap.”
