Cop chief I support Lush on spy row

-

A police chief has backed cosmetics chain Lush over a marketing campaign based on the “spy cops” furore.

The firm said they were highlighting the scandal of undercover officers forging intimate relationships with women in animal rights groups and denied they were anti-police.

Martyn Underhill, police commissioner for Dorset, where Lush are based, said tactics used by officers were “disproportionate and distasteful”. He added: “I support Lush exposing this.”

Underhill revealed for “transparency” that Lush owner Mark Constantine donated to his election campaigns.

A public inquiry into claims of wrongdoing by undercover off icers was set up in 2015.

“It was kind of a shock – especially with my friends and family seeing that and just completely ripping me to shreds.”

Murray, who has previously appeared as PC Jason Denny in ITV drama The Loch, was cast in the role just weeks af ter Harry and Meghan revealed their engagement.

The movie, which premiered days before the wedding, followed their fairytale love story from their f irst meeting right up to the announcement they were getting married.

And the male lead of the film quickly had to brush up on his knowledge of the prince and his fiancee.

Murray said: “I binge-watched as much as I possibly could – all these documentaries and videos to try to get a feel for Prince Harry.

“Any time I go on a YouTube video now, it recommends more royal stuff. I can’t get rid of it.”

The actor, who star ted performing at the age of 10 and studied musical theatre at the Dance School of Scotland in Glasgow, did his best to get rid of his own accent for the film role.

The movie was made by American channel Lifestyle, who previously made a fi lm about Prince William and Kate’s romance.

On the advice of director Menhaj Huda, Murray spoke only in a cut-glass English accent – both on and off set – for the duration of the six-week shoot, which was filmed in Vancouver and Los Angeles.

But he said he was never trying to look or sound exactly like Prince Harry.
