Leighton Baines is set to follow Everton team-mate Wayne Rooney to America.

Rooney is in talks with DC United and now Baines looks set to join him Stateside with Chicago Fire and Philadelph­ia Union interested.

Meanwhile, new Toffees boss Marco Silva is bidding to land Chelsea’ s Ruben LoftusChee­k with Crystal Palace also keen.

Silva also wants Jack Wilshire, who will move on from Arsenal after talks with new Gunners boss Unai Emery. Spurs will fight it out with Everton in the race to sign highly- rated Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish.

Villa may also sell prized centre- back James Chester, with a £20million price tag on the Welsh internatio­nal.

Cash-strapped Villa’s staff are due to be paid this week and, at present, expenses payments are being met.

And with Leicester City keeping an eye on Brighton’s Lewis Dunk, it’s rumoured that Chester is lined- up as a replacemen­t for Chris Hugh ton’ s Seagulls side. Jo se Mourinho will switch his attentions to Valencia left- back Jose Luis Gaya after being priced out of a move for Alex Sandro.

The Manchester United boss had identified Brazilian Sandro as his top target for the position.

But his club Juventus’ £50million demands have been deemed too steep.

Gaya, 23, is rated at closer to £ 30m after signing a new contract at Valencia, where he came through the youth ranks.

Ashley Young played at left-back for Uni ted for much of last season but, at 32, Mourinho knows the England star has a limited number of years left at the top level. Aitor Karanka is looking to raid old club Middlesbro­ugh for two players as he bids to bolster his Nottingham Forest squad.

Karanka is zeroing in on Patrick Bamford and Adam Clayton as well as Boro old boy Cristhian Stuani.

Uruguayan star Stuani is now with Girona in Spain.
