WILLS PEACE VOW FOR MIDDLE EAST

- Russell Myers

Prince William has vowed to make the Middle East peace process “a life- long project” after his trip to the region.

The Duke of Cambridge became the first royal to travel on official business to Israel and the Occupied Palest inian territories last week and was so moved by the stories of the people he met that he has made it his mission to campaign for a “just and lasting peace”.

In an step away from royal tradition, the prince spoke openly of his wish to achieve “peace and prosperity” for all.

Rivlin sent shockwaves across the world on Tuesday when he asked Wil liam to deliver “a message of peace” to the Palestinian leader in the hope of ending the decades old conflict between the two sides.

Far from shying away, William is understood to have told aides that he intends to “do what is right” and campaign for peace.

A royal source said: “The places he visited, the people he met and the stories he heard, have all moved him very deeply.
