It’s Naisy decision to return

-

Steven Nai smith has revealed he rejected offers from clubs in the English Championship to return to Hearts on loan.

The Scotland striker agreed a season-long return to Tynecastle on Friday.

He spent the second half of last term on loan from Norwich and scored four goals in 16 appearances for Craig Levein’s side.

It will bring to an end a six- year stint in English football as his contract at Carrow Road is due to expire next summer.

The 31-year-old, who left Rangers for Everton in 2012, admits a return to Scotland was more appealing than remaining in Engl ish football’s second tier.

He said: “There were offers from the Championship but I never looked at them in much detail because I wasn’t really interested.

“I thought hard about my next move and this was the one that suited me best.

“When you are young it is all about playing at the best level and making the most money. As you get older these are less important than your family life and what you get out of football.

“There were no negatives last season at Hearts.

“I can play at a high level and if I can bring that to the club then hopefully we can be successful. I feel good. It’s more about maintenance these days and I aim to be as involved as I can be.”
