Marchers plan wall of resistance

Protesters will decorate a wall of resistance during the rally against again Trump in Glasgow.

Thousands Tho are expected at the event, event which will begin at 5pm on Friday Frida in George Square.

The event is being planned by Scotland Scotl United Against Trump.

A demonstrat­ion organised by the same group is planned for the Scottish Scott Parliament on Saturday.

Thousands Tho are expected to march marc from the Parly building at 12.30pm 12.30 past the US consulate in Regent Terrace during what organisers organ have said is a “national demonstrat­ion demo against Trump”.

Campaigner­s Cam say it will be followed follow by a carnival of resistance resist – with speeches and music – at the Meadows in Edinburgh at 2.30pm.

There will also be a protest outside Trump’s golf course at Menie Estate in Aberdeensh­ire, starting at 11am on Saturday.

Thousands of police will be on duty during the visit.

Officers from as far away as the West Midlands are being drafted in to keep Trump away from the protesters.

Assistant Chief Constable Mark Williams said: “We would encourage those attending any protests to do so peacefully.

“Our objectives will be to ensure the safety of the president and those travelling with him and to maintain public safety.”
