Swimming sensation Ross can’t wait to compete

“We were sat here at this desk, had a chat, then got in the pool. I still think about that every now and then – it was really cool. It always pops up on my phone in August like, ‘Here is a memory of four years ago.’
“It turned out he grew up round about where I did in West Dunbartonshire and I think he was in the Learn To Swim scheme too so running through with the same teachers I had.
“It’sIts just so strange how that works out. It’s such a small worldw – it could have been anybody who sent this but it just so happens it was Brian from West Dunbartonshire whowh trained in the same club as me.”
RossR announced himself as a swimmingswi sensation with his CommonwealthCom record of 2 minutes and 7.3 seconds inside Tollcross four yearsyear ago next week. It was made all the more special by the fact his grandpa David turned 70 that very night and was in the stand as part of Team Murdoch.
With meets as far as Gold Coast since, his family are set to relish a rare opportunity to see their boy perform on the big stage.
He’s hoping his performance will see thousands of others – especially youngsters – packed inside Tollcross similarly invested.
The 24-year-old said: “Just a few weeks ago, we were at the Glasgow International competition in Tollcross, where we are going to be swimming in three weeks’ time.
“I only swam the 200 breaststroke and, after the race, I got mobbed by all the volunteer kids who had been taking the baskets of clothes behind and separating out the medallists’ ones.
“They all came over wanting their T-shirts signed and hats and bottles. I’ve signed the back of iPads and all sorts. I find that really
