EVEN TROLLS ARE BACKING REALITY SHOW’S STAR Family rooting for TV’s Laura
Laura Anderson’s sister says she deserves to be crowned Love Island champion even if favourites Jack Fincham and Dani Dyer triumph in tomorrow night’s final.
Danielle Strang, 38, believes her little sister is this year’ s stand-out winner after inspiring the nation with her handling of her traumatic eight-week stay in the villa. Dumped twice, backstabbed by so-called d friends and mo ck edd because of her age, e, Laura’s Love Island d journey has been the most st turbulent of all the con test ants.tt The 29-year-old former flight attendant has behaved with such compassion and dignity that even the online trolls have changed their tune. Laura, who has found love at last on the hit ITV2 show with carpenter and model Paul Knops, will go head-tohead with remaining couples Jack and Dani, Wes Nelson and Megan Barton Hanson and Josh Denzel and Kazimir Crossley if she gets to Monday’s live final. Danielle, who will appear in tonight’s Meet the Parents episode along side her dad David, 56, said: “Dani and Jack aare definitely the frontrunners to win the show but in my eyes Laura is the stand- out winner after everything she’s been through and the way she’s handled it. “She’s had the most traumatic time out of everyone but, no matter what’s been thrown at her, she has bounced back with dignity and grace. “Our dad wasn’t comfortable about her going on the show and didn’t want her to do it but now he couldn’t be prouder. Laura hasn’t put a foot wrong since she went into the villa. She’s been its very heart – comforting anyone who was upset, acting as peacemaker and instigating fun.
“She’s been at the centre of all the major storylines and has been by far the most entertaining of all the contestants.
“I think she should win it on her own, nevermind in a couple with Paul.
“Laura has even beaten the online trolls.
“Folk on social media, who mocked her age and complained she was too moany, are now describing her as an angel after she wiped away the tears of Laura Crane, who had nicked her ex, Jack.” Love Island is on at 9pm tonight on ITV2.
