Surf cop rescues rape hell woman

A surfing off- duty police officer saved a tourist from two men allegedly trying to rape her in Tenerife.

Two Moroccans have been detained after the incident on a beach in Playa de Las Americas.

Local reports say the holidaymak­er agreed to go to the beach with one of the men after meeting him during a night out.

A friend of the man unexpected­ly appeared on the scene and allegedly attempted to have sex with the tourist.

The off-duty officer, who was going surfing with a friend, rushed to the woman’s aid when he heard her screams.

The policeman and his pal held the suspects after a chase until col leagues arrived to arrest them.

One of the suspects has been held in custody after appearing in front of a judge in a closed court hearing.

The other, an illegal immigrant, has been sent to a detention centre.

The British holidaymak­er is understood to have flown back to the UK after giving a statement to police.

In another incident, a British man has appeared in court in Majorca, accused of tying up and raping a young woman at her flat.
