DIY divorce can save cash

-

I split from my wife 10 months ago, after she had an affair. We have two children at university. We’ve sorted out finances between us and want to divorce quickly and easily. Do we need a solicitor? As you describe it, no. You can use the DIY or simplified divorce procedure but you’d need to wait until you’ve been separated for a year. The sheriff court fee for the application is £123. If matters are more complicated you may need legal advice.

She travelled to Tuscany with husband Alan and their friends Gaynor and Michael Day.

After spending thousands more on f lights and accommodation, the four were left disappointed when Bocelli didn’t sing a single hit.

Nicola , 29, of Larber t , in Stirlingshire, said: “People were leaving in their droves. This had been billed as Andrea Bocelli in concert. Instead, he had a part in an opera.

“We left after act three, By that point, he had been on stage for maybe 15 minutes in total. It was a total letdown.”

Accounts assistant Nicola, and Alan, a company director, had booked the tickets for the July 28 event at Teatro del Silenzio in Tuscany, through Viagogo.

Alan, 38, had spotted the concert on Bocelli’s website.

Nicola said: “This was a big deal for us. We’d never seen Bocelli live before.”

But their bubble soon burst. She added: “We were in an ancient amphitheatre and the views over the Tuscan hills were spectacular.

“But we sat down with thousands of others and a horrendously boring opera about the French Revolution began.

“We were all wondering what was going on. There were coach tours from the UK and the Netherlands and people looking bewildered.”

Initially, Nicola and her friends thought the opera preceded Bocelli
