NEYVER MET YE ANDRE

-

Brazil’s 2- 0 friendly win over United States descended into a petty dispute between samba star Neymar and DeAndre Yedlin.

Newcastle defender Yedlin appeared to ask the referee if he had “watched the World Cup” after he felt Neymar had dived to win a free-kick.

But Neymar responded by saying he didn’t care for the criticism – because he didn’t know who Yedlin was.

He said: “Unfortunately I don’t have much to say.

“I just have to be sorry for him, he’s the type of player that I don’t know.

“So I have no reason to be worried.”

Brazil took the lead in 11 minutes through Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino who converted a cross from Douglas Costa.

And Neymar doubled the Selecao’s lead from the penalty spot after a foul on Fabinho.

The spot- kick is the PSG star’s 58th goal in 91 appearances for Brazil.

Brazil boss Tite, staying on after his side’s quarterfinal exit in the World Cup, handed a debut to Everton attacker Richarlison.

Two goals from Barcelona star Luis Suarez helped Uruguay to a 4-1 mauling of Mexico.

Jose Maria Gimenez scored the opener for Uruguay but it was pegged back by a penalty from Raul Jimenez.

Suarez added two goals in nine minutes, one a cheeky Panenka penalty, to put his side in the driving seat.

And he then set up Gaston Pererio to head in the fourth.

In the UEFA Nations Leag ue, Swi tzerland stormed to a 6- 0 home win against Iceland with six different players on the scoresheet.

Steven Zuber, Denis Zakaria, Xherdan Shaqiri, Haris Seferovic, Albian Ajeti and Admir Mehmedi were all on target for the Swiss.

They top group A2 with the other team in the group, Belgium, still to kick- off their Nat ions League campaign against Heimir Hallgrimsson’s team.

Ex- Celtic striker Teemu Pukki scored the only goal of the game as Finland defeated Hungary 1- 0 in group C2.

The Norwich striker celebrated his 62nd cap for his country with his 12th international goal.

Belarus top group D2 after a 5- 0 hammering of San Marino in Minsk.
