Brown: We’re Edin home to take revenge

- Gary Heatly

Edinburgh winger Tom Brow n ha s wa r ned Connacht to beware his wounded side a f t er su f f e r ing the mos t agonising defeat of his career in Ulster.

Richard Cockerill’s men have lost two from two in the Guinness Pro14 after following up a reverse at the Ospreys with Friday’s lastgasp 30-29 defeat in Belfast.

Edinburgh had led by 17 points in the second half and also went up 29-27 with seconds remaining.

But John Cooney kicked a penalty to give the home side the win in injury time.

Brown – who was playing his first match in 10 months after a hamstring injury – said: “That’s the most gutting loss I’ve ever had in an Edinburgh shirt.

“We deserved more. We’ll analyse the game as always but there was a lot of positives to take out of it.

“And we are all really keen to get back out at BT Mur rayf ield and play Connacht this Friday. We

prided ourselves on our away performances last year – I think we had the best away record in the league – but after going to two tough places and losing to start this term, I can’t wait to get back home.

“There’s a real buzz around Edinburgh and the direction that this squad is going. I’m hoping for a good reception at Murrayfield and the boys are buzzing for it.

“We need to learn how to manage the game when we have a lead.

“We’re playing a great brand of rugby – we just need to believe that we can win against anyone in the league.”
