Champ tells of car-jack ordeal
Former boxing champ Michael Watson has told how he feared be would die after being sprayed with acid and dragged 500 yards by “demon” carjackers.
Watson, 53 – who suffered a near- fatal brain injury during a bout with Chris Eubank in 1991 – was targeted by thieves trying to steal his carer’s car.
He said: “I’ve been through a lot in my life. I’ve been c r i t ica l ly i l l , had si x operations on my head and been through so much.But coming back from this has been my hardest f ight – tougher than all of my world title fights put together. It’s a miracle I’m still here.”
Simon Luck, 28, and Paul Samuels, 31, were convicted over last February’s incident in London and wi l l be sentenced this week.
