UK fracking quake No5
A FIFTH earthquake was recorded yesterday at a controversial fracking site.
The British Geological Survey say there have now been f ive tremors near Blackpool since Cuadrilla started drilling on Monday.
The news came as more than 1000 protesters arrived at the plant to hear speakers blast the site’s negative impact. Experts say tremors and drilling are linked.
Loganair flightht LM438 was flying from Sumburghmburgh Airport to Glasgow whenhen the drama happened on Fridayriday evening, minutes after take-ake-off.
It is understoodod the aircraft’s left-hand enginee was affected by the incident.

Passengers saidaid they heard a bang and could smelll fuel within minutes of their flight takingng to the air.
They were unablenable to continue their journey until yesterdayesterday at 9am because the airport was closedld overnight.ight
A Loganair spokesman said: “Safety is always our first priority and, as always, our pilots responded immediately and appropriately to the warning that they received on the flightdeck following the bird strike – an eventuality for which every pilot is extensively trained.
“The aircraft made a normal landing back at Sumburgh and our customers were able to disembark as normal.
“We arranged hotel accommodation overnight and a replacement flight at the earliest possible opportunity.
The spokesman added: “We would also like to offer our sincere apologies for this disruption to our customers’ journeys.”
