Jose in tunnel bust-up
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho lost the plot after his side drew 2-2 with Chelsea.
Mourinho sparked a fracas after he was taunted by Blues coach Marco Ianni during the celebrations of Ross Barkley’s leveller in the sixth minute of added time.
Chelsea had led through Antonio Rudiger but two second-half goals from Anthony Martial looked like it had won the game for United.
Jose Mourinho reckons his Man United stars could have played with their eyes closed and still been in control.
That’s why Chelsea’s late leveller cut him so deep.
Add in an angry spat with the Blues bench and humiliation from the Stamford Bridge fans who once worshipped him.
It ended up being a day to forget instead of the one the Special One felt he deserved.
Two fine finishes from Anthony Martial looked like giving United a rare win at Chelsea after Antonio Rudiger’s headed opener for Chelsea.
But Ross Barkley fired the level ler four minutes into stoppage time, sparking a melee as Mourinho reacted to Blues officials celebrating in front of his dugout.
The United gaffer said: “It was a fantastic match but a very undeserved result. We were calm, in control. Every player knew with closed eyes which player is his player, which space is his space.
“The result is so unfair. It’s an awful result for us and a phenomenal result for them.”
Blues coach Marco Ianni taunted Mour inho af ter Barkley had fired home to salvage a point for Chelsea.
Ianni apologised to the United boss after the game and Mourinho tried to play down the ugly spat.
He said: “The 97 minutes of the game was so good but you have to focus on that? The assistant has already come to me and apologised, I told him to forget it. I have made a lot of mistakes in my career.
“He was very impolite but Maurizio Sarri took care of the situation.”
Blues boss said: “I understood we were in the wrong.”
Mourinho also took stick from Chelsea’s fans and stuck three fingers up to remind them of the titles he won for the club.
He said: “I did not get respect back from the fans but that is not my responsibility.”
