THRONE OUT
Netflix guards show Richard the door
His performances in Game of Thrones and Bodyguard have made him one of the most bankable stars.
But Richard Madden has revealed his stellar CV didn’t impress security staff at Netflix. The 32-year- old from Elderslie, Renfrewshire was told he couldn’t have a free bottle of water when he visited the firm’s HQ in Los Gatos, California.
That was despite the streaming giant recently acquiring the rights to the BBC’s Bodyguard.
Madden told US show KTLA Morning News how he picked up a bottle of water before he was instructed to put it back down as it was “for Netflix employees only”.
He said: “I walked in and I was told I was in the wrong building so they told me to go round the corner.
“There was fridge of Netf l ix branded water which I went to grab a bottle of and was again told I ‘ had to go round the corner’.
“I said: ‘Cool, I will just grab a bottle of water’, to which I was told no I’m not allowed to... ‘ it’s for Netflix employees only’.”
“I said, ‘ Well I am a Netf l ix employee… I am on a show’ and they said, ‘Sir you need to put that water back now.’
“And I was like ‘Seriously? Surely I can have a bottle of water?’ And they were like ‘You have to put it back now, you have to leave now, sir,’ and they held the door open for me and I left the building.”
